This comes after a tragic event that occurred on June 12, 2025 at 4:16 p.m. ETLive, where an Air India passenger jet crashed moments after takeoff. The London-bound Boeing Dreamliner went down near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, claiming the lives of 260 people on board and on the ground. The only survivor was a passenger on the plane.

The crash occurred near a medical college, where many students were among the victims. Verified footage shows the plane moments before it crashed, and emergency responders were quick to arrive at the scene. The tail of the plane was seen sticking out of a dining hall, and rescue workers were sifting through debris in search of survivors.

Officials are still surveying the damage caused by the crash, and families of the victims are reacting to the devastating news. The departure hall at Gatwick Airport, where the flight originated, has been closed as a result of the crash.

As of now, 269 bodies have been brought to the main hospital in Ahmedabad, and the exact toll is yet to be determined through DNA testing. Rescue personnel, doctors, and security officials estimate that around three dozen people on the ground were also killed in the crash.
