According to The New York Times, on June 16, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. ET, Israel expanded its attacks on Iran, targeting the headquarters of its state television broadcaster while anchors were live on air. This marks the fourth day of intense back-and-forth attacks between the two countries.

Israel’s actions suggest a growing confidence, as they have warned residents in Tehran to evacuate certain areas and even hinted at targeting Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not ruled out this possibility.

In Tehran, residents are facing difficult decisions as gas stations run out of fuel and communication services are disrupted. Many are unsure of where to go or how to escape the city. The war is expected to continue for weeks, with civilian casualties rising on both sides.

Early on Monday, Israel announced that it had attacked the headquarters of Iran’s elite Quds Force in Tehran. Later in the day, the Israeli military stated that it had achieved “full aerial superiority,” allowing them to target a wider range of Iranian sites. The conflict shows no signs of slowing down, and the situation remains tense and unpredictable.
