A 8.8-magnitude earthquake shook the remote, sparsely populated Kamchatka region and set off tsunami waves. No serious injuries were reported, officials said.The New York Times reports that a powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck the isolated and thinly populated Kamchatka region, triggering a series of tsunami waves.
