According to a recent report from CoinDesk, Galaxy Digital (GLXY) has announced the hiring of Anthony Paquette, former chief financial officer at Point72, to serve in the same role at the crypto financial services firm. Paquette will be replacing Alex Ioffe, who will transition into a senior adviser role. Paquette brings with him four years of experience as CFO at Steve Cohen’s hedge fund Point72, where he oversaw global finance, treasury, and broker relations. Prior to that, he held positions at SoFi, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America. In a statement, Paquette expressed his excitement to join Galaxy Digital and help solidify the firm’s position as a leader in the industry. CEO Mike Novogratz thanked Ioffe for his contributions in building a strong finance team and preparing the company for a potential U.S. listing. Galaxy Digital has been trying to go public in the U.S. through a listing on Nasdaq, but is still awaiting approval from the SEC to move its headquarters from the Cayman Islands to Delaware.
