Concern that President Trump and President Vladimir V. This comes after concerns that President Trump and President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia may sideline Ukraine in discussions to end the war. At a NATO meeting in Brussels, European leaders rushed to respond to President Trump’s moves to broker peace directly with President Putin, asserting their right to be at the negotiating table and arguing against conceding critical bargaining chips like territorial borders and NATO membership. President Zelensky emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s involvement in any agreements, stating that as a sovereign country, they cannot accept any deals without their participation. European leaders also stressed the need for their involvement in negotiations, as they will have to live with the consequences of any deal. The report also mentions Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and their efforts to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. However, Ukraine has been pushing to accelerate their application since the start of the war.
